Texas SUV Rollover near Salado, Texas

5 year old girl involved in accident near Salado wasn’t wearing seatbelt.

Texas D.P.S. troopers say a five-year-old girl who died in a rollover accident on Interstate 35 south of Salado was not wearing a seatbelt. Texas State Troopers say the driver of the SUV lost control when the tread peeled off a rear tire. The girl was thrown from the vehicle, and officers pronounced her dead at the scene.

Two other people in the SUV rollover remain at local area hospital.

Observation from Texas Trial Attorney David Willis

In many SUV Rollover cases the seat belts can come open during a rollover. A seatbelt buckle during a rollover can unlatch or unbuckle due to false latching or inertial unlatching. If you believe that you or your child were belted before the rollover occurred and were later ejected or partially ejected, then the seatbelt buckle may have opened and be defective.
