JEEP CHEROKEE ROLLOVER
The above pictures are of a 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Sport. The Cherokee rollover damage is concentrated on the front roof header and front A Pillars. These front roof supports did not withstand even the weight of this mid-size SUV. The airbags did not deploy in this rollover, because of little frontal impact during this rollover. The occupant safety space of the driver and passenger area was severely encroached during the roll and roof collapse.

JEEP CHEROKEE ROLLOVERS EMERGE-
As we all know the Jeep was one of the true heroes that emerged from World War II. GI's after the war flocked by the thousands to find and drive this tough machine. In the 1950's through the 1970's the popularity of the Jeep continued and with it, competitors. Jeep continued to play a major role in the SUV market, the rollovers of Jeep Vehicles continued as well. After an avalanche of bad press before and after the 60 minutes segment, more Jeep rollovers and more Jeep lawsuits of Jeep CJ5 and Jeep CJ7, Jeep decided to market the Jeep Wrangler to "fix" the problem and provide a new image to the sport utility department. Unfortunately the Jeep Wrangler also had rollover related problems. Jeep then once again had to made some changes in their new Jeep Wrangler which did in fact make it more stable and reduce the numbers of rollovers and ultimately a reduction in the number of lawsuits. Even though Jeep had the Cherokee Chief and the Jeep Waggoner, Jeep started to market a much sportier and family friendly model of the Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee with more modern features and sporty designs. This strategy was a huge success to the Jeep division of Chrysler. However, as more and more people bought these popular Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee and even the Jeep Grand Waggoner Limited, the numbers of Jeep rollover accidents and roof crush injuries increased as well. Surprisingly Jeep came out with another SUV, named the Jeep Liberty. It is a short sporty mini SUV that was built to compete with the RAV4 and Ford Escape class of vehicles. With it's popularity, especially among younger drivers, Jeep Liberty rollover accidents started to climb to. Only time will tell if the Jeep Liberty rollover problem will be resolved or not.
