Ferrari recalling vehicles over airbag issues

A recall has been issued by Ferrari due to a potential airbag problem that affects 2,600 vehicles worldwide, Business Insider reported on July 20.

Reports said the Takata airbag installed in the affected Ferraris may launch erroneously, causing further injuries to drivers during accidents. Though the airbags in the Ferraris were supplied by Takata, a spokesperson for the Italian company confirmed that the recall they issued is different from the Takata recall issued by other car manufacturers, which have been linked to some fatal accidents. According to the NHTSA, 800 of the recalled Ferraris are in North America.
