Nearly 700,000 recent Ford vehicles with potential airbag issues are being recalled, an article by Time reported on May 9.

An estimated 692,500 Ford Escape and C-Max 2013-2014 models are affected by what is reportedly an airbag deployment software glitch. Reports state that the glitch in the affected vehicles could potentially cause a delay in airbag launch.

Passengers have a higher risk of sustaining injuries during rollover accidents if the airbags fail to deploy on time. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or accidents directly involving the defect thus far.
