Nearly 600 Nissan vans in the U.S. are being recalled by its manufacturer due to a potential malfunction in the seat belts, Edmunds.com reported on September 3.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated that the seat belts of some 594 recent models of Nissan NV passenger vans may not work due to retractor bolts that are either missing or not properly tightened. Passengers on the second, third, and fourth row of the van are at high risk of suffering injuries in accident if the seat belts malfunction. Steve Yaeger of Nissan North America stated that there were no reports of injuries before the recall was issued. You can inquire about the status of your vehicle by calling Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
