A teenager who recently was involved in a rollover accident near Refugio County reported his experience to the Victoria Advocate on March 21.
According to 18-year-old Blayke Phillips, he knew the Ford F-250 vehicle he was riding in was going to rollover as soon as it hydroplaned and struck a curb. Blayke said he was thrown from the truck in the first flip, and, while in the air, saw the truck to continue to roll beneath him. He was largely uninjured after landing on a muddy part of the grass. All four of his friends inside the vehicle survived in the crash, but one had to be flown to San Antonio to address her injuries. The teenagers were on their way to Port Aransas when the accident happened. Authorities declined to release further details due to the ongoing investigation.
