Toyo Tire USA Corp has announced the recall of more than 66,000 tired after a possible defect was found that could lead to tire failure.
The recalled tire is the Toyo Extensa A/S tire (size p225/60r16 97t) that were produced from Sept. 2009 to November 2010 and distributed to multiple different retailers throughout the U.S.
The recalled tired may have a kink in the bead area, which could lead to a crack if the tire is under inflated. The crack may cause the tire to completely fail and cause the driver to lose control. The recall is expected to begin in the first week of February and Toyo owners will be replacing the tires for free.
