A man in Oregon filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Continental Tire after his pregnant wife died in a rollover accident in 2013, according to The Washington Times on June 2.

According to the claim, the tire of a Ford Expedition containing eight people suddenly deflated during operation, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over several times, ultimately resulting in the death of Ivon Carina Barajas-Orozco; the seven other occupants were injured. A lawyer representing the plaintiff argued that Continental failed to fully inform consumers about the tire’s potential defects. The report also revealed that Continental issued a recall in 2011 affecting tires used in Ford vehicles. The plaintiff, who accuses two other businesses in the suit, is currently seeking compensation for him and his 5-year-old son worth $18 million.
