A woman who was killed in a rollover accident around 9:45 a.m. on Sunday the 7th has been identified by authorities as 23-year-old Kayla Marie Elsenburg of Hewitt.
Trooper D. L. Wilson, Department of Public Safety, said that Elsenburg was driving her Kia Sedonia minivan northbound along Interstate 35 with her husband and a child when her car flipped over after she lost control in an attempt to avoid an SUV and hit a guardrail. According to Wilson, Elsenburg had her seat belt on when the accident occurred.
She died a few hours later at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where the victims were taken. Her husband and the child survived with non-life threatening injuries.
